The Protector is meant for outdoor use. The sizing is made for most front leg injuries and for back leg injuries in which the circumference (distance around) is close to the same on the top as it is at the bottom.
It has a flexible, abrasion resistant boot. The boot is waterproofed against water, urine, snow, etc. There is a replaceable “Extra Protection Strip” that covers the most used part of the boot which helps to prolong the life of the “boot” part of the Protector.
The upper part of the Protector is made of a lightweight “breathable” fabric which is water resistant. The upper part has a slit at the top which allows you to slip it on and take it off with greater ease. It also makes the Protector a bit more adjustable.
There are 2 Velcro straps, one is just above the boot and the other is just below the top binding. The flexible fabric that is used for both the boot and upper part of the Protector allows the Velcro straps to fasten snuggly around the cast, bandage, splint or brace.
It is NOT chew proof! A chewing deterrent, e-collar or a “basket muzzle” is recommended for those who won’t leave it alone.
